My background is in entrepreneurship and business but once I began volunteering through the Church and then with a local charity I became committed to giving back to the community. I have gained a wealth of experience through working with service users and I am driven by the belief that people should not need food banks; I am also driven by a desire for equality in our communities. I founded Spring Community Hub in 2016 based on those principles. I seek to work with our staff to walk our guests through their journeys and provide them with the support they need until they no longer need our service.
I am also a Trustee of IFAN, Chair of the Havering BME Forum and Vice Chair of the Community Southwark Trustees.

A dedicated and passionate individual committed to creating change for marginalised voices, I have volunteered extensively, so I understand the importance of giving back to the community, and I’m truly passionate about Advocacy and Equality.
I have a diverse background in Welfare to Work, Education, Careers Guidance, Hospitality, Events Management and Third-Sector Development. I have mentored Senior Leaders in Leadership, Business, and Personal Development and have supported clients to work more productively to achieve success more effectively without sacrificing their well-being.
I am currently Chair of Governors for a primary school. Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to continuous learning and Personal Growth. I actively seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge and stay informed about the latest research, policies, and interventions aimed at improving the lives of marginalised individuals. This dedication ensures that I remain at the forefront of innovative approaches to create lasting change.

I am a lifelong volunteer with various organisations beginning with the British Red Cross over 50 years ago. Since then I have volunteered on various committees, nearly always as the Treasurer and lately as the Membership Secretary of a local Civic Society.
I have been involved with Spring Community Hub almost from the beginning - starting in 2017. In addition to volunteering duties on the finance administration in the office, I was also elected as the Treasurer to the Board.
It has been an incredible learning experience personally - and I think, for all of us involved with Spring. We started as colleagues and work mates and ended up as a family - all doing the best we can for those we serve.
I am looking forward to retiring (again) one day - but not just yet! I think I’ll be around for a few more years.

I am a proud mother to 4 children, ages 4-14; I have been a secretary for my TRA for 14+ years and also a home baker and decorator. I did my degree in criminology and sociology at Roehampton University. My background is in children’s playschemes, after-school clubs, entertainment and I was a playworker for over 10+ years. I have also worked within homelessness as a project worker to support homeless/vulnerable people across London to find homes, build supportive relationships, and lead fulfilling lives.
My goals and aspirations are to go back to work and being a volunteer keeps me mentally active and allows me to give back. Being a Trustee provides me with insight into how Spring Community Hub runs and I am delighted to be part of its mission and all the splendid work it is doing for so many people.
I am able to bring my experience organising children's activities, also bring ideas and contacts to help Spring Community Hub’s fundraising. I provide a parent's perspective as a service user and do outreach to make contacts within the local community

A dedicated professional with a 25 year career in both Education and Social Care, I am currently Spring Community Hub’s Secretary/Link Safeguarding Trustee. Beyond my frontline roles, I have also worked in policy development, on the establishment of processes and initiatives and on the motivation of young people. I am passionate about positively transforming and making a lasting impact on the lives of young individuals, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and SEND requirements.
As a registered social worker, I have acquired invaluable skills that enable me to
swiftly identify risks and concerns, ensuring the prompt safeguarding of children. My approach goes beyond immediate interventions, fostering a work culture that promotes reflection and growth amongst staff.
As Spring Community Hub's Secretary/Link Safeguarding Trustee, I am committed to continuing to lead with dedication and passion, ensuring the safety and growth of the communities we serve.
